We advocate responsible business practices across British Land and throughout our supply chain.

In FY23 we achieved our highest employee engagement score ever and rolled out sustainability training for all of our employees. We also significantly improved our performance in the Social Mobility Index where we have a strong track record. For our supplier partners we are introducing a framework focused on ESG issues.

  • Compliance with Parker Review recommendations on Board level ethnic diversity
  • Ethnicity pay gap 14.2%

  • Undertook independent anti-modern slavery audits of 8 critical suppliers
  • 93% of supplier workforce paid the Real Living Wage

 

  • Commitment to pay at least the Real Living Wage to all British Land employees and for suppliers to endeavour to pay the Real Living Wage to all direct employees and subcontractors

Mandating prompt payment

  • Group invoices settled within 18 days on average, 95% within 30 days

 

  • Aim to pay 95% of suppliers within 30 days

Responsible procurement standards

  • Updated our Supplier Code of Conduct to include specific UN Sustainable Development Goals requirements
  • Joined Unseen’s Construction Hub

 

  • Roll out new Supplier Code of Conduct requirements to non-SME supplier partners with 25% of partners to have confirmed UN Sustainable Development Goals focus in the year
